Dear friends:

We, a group of ethnic Chinese professionals, are proposing to form a non-profit and non-political organization of ethnic Chinese professionals living or working in the Canada's Technology Triangle in Waterloo region and surrounding areas. We tentatively call it "Chinese Professionals Association of Canada's Technology Triangle (CPACTT)".

The idea of forming such an organization has been discussed informally during numerous social gatherings. All of us believe that forming an association can better serve the interest of ethnic Chinese professionals and all ethnic Chinese in this region and surround areas in general. We welcome all the ideas and suggestions on what the mission of the association should carry. At the same time we have compiled a list of missions the association would like to carry.

The association can provide a convenient and cost-effective platform for the exchange of technical and business ideas, obtaining professional helps from fellow ethnic Chinese professionals. In this community, we have experts in a large and diversified areas such as sciences, arts, engineering, business, medicine, finance and education. Due to our shared ethnic and culture background, we will be able to access such a rich knowledge pool much more conveniently and effectively. We can also provide an ideal media for professionals to deliver their business or service messages to their potential clients.

Having an association may also have very positive effect on our quality of life. Many of us have worked very hard on our professional pursuing and have been over-achievers. Once settled down with a nice house and probably several great cars, it is time to reflect on some other aspects of our lives. The association could provide much needed obligations for you and your family to socialize with your friends living in the same community.

The association can also serve our interest in a more practical way. As a group, we will have a much stronger voice to protect our rights; We will have more bargaining powers to negotiate better business deals for our members. We can help each other by providing job information of the companies we are working in. The new comers will find it much easier to integrate and contribute to the Canadian multiculture society with the help of the relatively more established professionals.

We will be happy to work for our best common interest on behalf of ethnic Chinese professionals in the region. We sincerely hope that you will appreciate this work and actively participate the related activities.

Yours sincerely,

Founding Committee
